Launch of the 2025 State of World Population Report & World Population Day Commemoration

The UNFPA Country Office and the UNFPA Representation Office to the African Union and UNECA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and Development, will host a high-level event to launch the 2025 State of World Population Report, coinciding with the commemoration of World Population Day.

This year’s report, titled “The Real Fertility Crisis: The Pursuit of Reproductive Agency in a Changing World”, explores fertility intentions and the factors shaping reproductive choices amid demographic diversity. It advocates for a more equitable and sustainable world that empowers individuals to realize their reproductive aspirations.

The event will feature the official launch by H.E. Dr. Fistum Assefa and will bring together members of parliament, senior government officials, representatives of diplomatic missions, civil society, and academia.
