The Development Partners Group (DPG) Secretariat, hosted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), supports the DPG Co-Chairs in ensuring the smooth operation of the group. It facilitates dialogue with Government of Ethiopia (GoE) counterparts and coordinates key meetings such as the DPG Executive Committee (ExCom), Heads of Agencies (HoA) meetings, and the High-Level Forum (HLF)—in collaboration with GoE and other DPG actors.

The Secretariat advises and supports various joint and technical working groups, and works closely with the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and the Ministry of Planning and Development (MoPD) in the context of the DPG Pooled Fund, which backs national development priorities.

It maintains regular engagement with Sector Working Groups (SWGs) to monitor progress, ensure cross-sector communication, and follow up on policy decisions and action points from the HLF. Feedback on challenges and meeting requests from SWGs is regularly shared with the DPG Co-Chairs.

In addition, the Secretariat closely follows activities linked to the DPG–GoE dialogue and the aid effectiveness agenda. These include:

• Supporting aid information management practices
• Assisting MPD in developing and monitoring national development plans and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
• Strengthening monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems
• Promoting dialogue on diversified financing for development
• Managing the DPG website and other digital communication tools
