Giving Birth in Displacement: Mizan’s Story at Shire Camp

This video tells the story of Mizan Asbe, a displaced woman at the Shire camp for IDPs in Ethiopia, and her experience giving birth there. Mizan explains that she was displaced and that her child is her only family. She received full prenatal care at the camp. Mizan gave birth in the camp, and the medical staff provided everything she and her child needed for a healthy delivery. She states that without the health services provided there, she would have struggled and might not have survived childbirth. Mizan says that everything was prepared for her, making a difficult situation much easier.
